Hey, I recently got a few ibm desktops and I've been told they take ibm-only ram. I have IBM Intellistation M Pro. Looking for ram to upgrade. Looking for 512mb or 1gb and up. Thanks!

You should at least give the TYPE/Model of those desktops, and the type of RAM it takes: SODIMM or DIMM, SDRAM, DDR, DDR2,etc., speed PC2100/PC2700/PC3200 etc.

Some of those took Rambus RDRAM Not saying that's what he needs but just throwing that out there.
I have a dual Xeon M Pro here that takes it. I'm not using it so if that's what you need maybe I can help.

Ops, I didn't that stuff was needed. Type: 6230, Model: MEU. What's currently on there is DDR PC2700. Hmmm, does that mean it can take any DDR PC2700? It doesn't have to be IBM branded?

Any PC2700 or PC3200 DDR desktop RAM should work, no need to buy (expensive) IBM branded.
Just make sure that the CL value (e.g. CL-2.5, CL-3, etc.) is the same as what you find printed on your current RAM.

This machine also requires ECC memory. PC3200 should be CL3, PC2700 memory should be CL2.5.
I may gave some of this. I'm pretty sure that I do. If I do, it would be 2 512MB sticks. PM me an offer if you are interested in the two sticks.
