WTB: The most Thinkpad I can get for $150 ***GOT ONE***

#1 Post by Kaervak » Sat Dec 19, 2009 10:44 pm

Hey guys, I'm after a Thinkpad for the animal shelter my mom volunteers for. Doesn't have to be anything special, doesn't need a CD or DVD burner or crazy powerful hardware. I'd prefer something from the T40 line if possible, but a T30 would be fine as well. If it's a DDR1 system that doesn't have any memory that would be even better since I have some DDR1 laying around. The battery isn't all that important. 45 minutes of runtime is fine since the system will more than likely be sitting on a desk. The only requirement is a legit XP COA must be on the system. Home or Pro, either one will work. Built in wireless would be nice too. Let me know what you have. :)

As one option, I can offer you a nice R51 with 15" XGA LCD, Pentium M 1.6GHz, 9000 ATI video, CDRW/DVD, internal b/g wifi, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, AC adapter and Windows XP Pro COA w/recovery partition intact. I'd like $150 plus shipping.

It's a nice, solid Pentium M machine (similar to a T41). It looks good but does have some wear and light scuffs/scratches. I can take/send you pictures, if interested. I'm traveling and won't be able to ship it for a week, so there's no hurry on my end.

You can't beat a nice big 15 inch XGA screen for a desktop laptop. Cruise these forums and see what besides the above lies within your price range. Seems to be a decent offer to me.

May want to consider one of these as well: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... hp?t=67224

The 2 I got from him look to be in very nice shape, though I haven't used them yet.
