Happy Holidays all.

I originally posted a WTB request back in October (here is that link: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=81277). I received a few PMs/offers, mainly for T60p/T61p's that were out of my budget, and I subsequently went with a netbook. Unfortunately, I can no longer stand the netbook and find myself back to square one... in the market for a Thinkpad!

My budget is approximately $250 and the ideal machine would be a T60. I am hoping that one of you may have a spare laying around, received an upgrade for xmas, or might be reducing your year-end Thinkpad inventory. As such, I haven't seen too many T60's in the marketplace lately. There always seem to be a few in this price range on fleabay and craigslist, but I would feel more comfortable purchasing from the Thinkpads community of enthusiasts. My main preference is for a 15 inch screen, but this is not a dealbreaker by any means.

I am certainly open to other suggestions and models as well. I missed out on Barry's T43 (here is that link: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=83178) which would have been pretty sweet at $125.

And just to reiterate, despite my low number of posts here, I have 100% positive feedback on FleaBay with over 40 completed transactions. I am not in the business of selling or reselling, just in search of a great laptop for my personal home use.

Happy New Year to all and thanks for taking the time to read my posting. I look forward to hearing what you may have!!!

$250 for a 15" T60 would be a very good deal. I'm not even sure you can find a 15" XGA model that low, but good luck and let's see what happens.

I can offer the following, a high end 14" R60 in near new condition for $300 plus shipping. The spec's are below and I will take pictures if you are interested, but it looks near new, since IBM just replaced the entire cover (due to one broken latch), keyboard and palmrest. The SXGA+ LCD is bright. The battery is in excellent condition. The warranty has expired. The R60 is about .75 lbs. more and 1/2" thicker than the T60, but the same width and depth. The cover is a plastic finish without the rubberized paint. Performance is identical to an Intel GPU T60 with the same specs. These are great specs for a T60 or R60.

Product: ThinkPad R60 9457-Y1X
Original description: Core Duo T2500 (2.0 GHz), 1GB RAM,
100GB 5400rpm HD, 14.1in SXGA+ 1400x1050 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVDRW,
802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, IEEE 1394,
6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro COA, 65w AC Adapter, Recovery Partition Intact

On the other hand, if you really want a T60, I also have a really nice 15.4" widescreen model that is under an excellent warranty until 2011, see full spec's below. Machine and battery are in excellent condition. $400 plus shipping.

Product: ThinkPad T60 6369-Y1E
Original description: Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz), 1GB RAM --> now 2GB RAM, 80GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, Intel 950, CDRW/DVDRW,
Intel 802.11abg wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip,
Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro COA, 65w AC Adapter, Recovery Partion Intact, Depot Warranty with ThinkPad Protection Upgrade expires July 28, 2011

I really liked my 14" R60, which was almost the same machine. $300 seems like a pretty good deal for a like new machine. I've bought and sold with underclocker. All transactions were smooth.
