Looking for long fan (M10) for T42/p 2379-DXU >>
Looking for long fan (M10) for T42/p 2379-DXU >>
Have started getting the infamous "fan error" with increasing frequency on my T42, which uses the long fan. I'd like to replace with a NOS or barely-used part without having to roll the dice on e-Bay.
I can pay directly or offer a USB 2.5" PATA HDD enclosure in (partial) trade.
Thanks,
Tim

Have you considered a T43 fan? I think it has better cooling properties.

If it has the proper form factor, definitely.scr71822 wrote:Have you considered a T43 fan? I think it has better cooling properties.

T43 fans are noisier and shabbily made in general. M10 is a much better fan than M24 could ever dream to be.
And no, I don't have either for sale...

Looking for another one of these, as the replacement I had obtained has begun to rattle after only a few months' worth of use. I'd prefer the M10 fan but can settle for the noisier M24 fan if necessary.

Fan (long) (01P8392), with screws, $10 plus shipping.
I can't comment on condition, except I was told it was working when pulled. 10 day return privilege (less shipping). Other items from this same source were fine. Sorry I can't be more definitive (I think price reflects that).

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking for something with a more definitive service history, as my previously purchased used fan has turned out to be a bit of a dud.

Still seeking this part. Unused preferable. M24 is a second preference if the M10 is unavailable.
