I think you meant a T23 battery won't fit a T30.

How can a T30 battery fit a T23 but not the opposite?

The T30 battery has the same shape as the T2x battery except for a notch cut in the corner. So, there will be a "hole" in the battery compartment when you use the T30 battery in a T2x laptop, but does not affect the performance nor will it fall out.

If you tried to do the reverse, the T2x battery will not fit in a T30 due to the notch.

Yeah, I know, confusing but when you see it you will understand!

To add further to the confusion, if you take a hacksaw/Dremel/Xacto knife, you can cut out that (empty) corner of the T23 battery, and it will fit in a T30. Put some black tape over the hole, and voila!
The advantage of T30 batteries is though, that they have a larger capacity than the T23 batteries.

yep, we used to do that with 380 batteries to make them fit 380XD's and 380Z's (or was it the other way around?)

That's because it takes 72 hours for it to show up after the last post. The forum rules state no bumps for 72 hours ( 3 days) unless there is a price change or a major change in item description.

My other post was Posted: Sat Jan 16, 2010 4:14 pm and had a bump button.
This one was Posted: Sat Jan 16, 2010 3:55 pm and does not.

Someone should snap up this last battery -- the one I bought charged right up and lasted 2 hours while surfing the Internet on wireless, and showed 30 minutes left. This is on my T23 under Ubuntu Linux.
