LF: Battery for R30 laptop

Good morning fellow TP members!

My uncle recently found an R30 laptop that I helped him get up and running again. The only thing that he needs now is a battery. I was wondering if any of you have a spare or one that is in a fair condition and are willing to sell. Please let me know. TIA.

Is the ultrabay the same in your R30 as the ultrabay in a T23 or T30? I have a never used ultrabay battery I purchased about three years ago from IBM or Lenovo for either my T23 or my T30. I also have the same ultrabay model CD drive. I can pull them out tomorrow and check part numbers so you can see if either will fit your R30. I know both will not fit in my T41 or higher because they are not "slim" --

I no longer have the T23 or T30 and have no use for the battery or CD drive -- if they fit your R30, you can have either or both for postage.

Okay -- pulled the two parts (Li-Ion Battery/fru 02K817 and/or 02K819 and CD-R-RW/Sony-CRX700E, both for Ultrabay-2000) and did a little google -- Think I figured out both parts will fit your T-30, but possibly not your R30 -- I think your R30 model uses the Ultrabay-Plus -- But check this page out: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Ultrabay> There is a chart which seems to show that my UB-2000 components WILL fit into your UB-Plus -- but your UB-Plus components WILL NOT fit into my UB-2000 --

All the above to say, "I'm not really sure???" But maybe...

Since my UB-2000 will fit your brother's T30, you may want both the Li-Ion and the CD-R-RW -- they would probably ship safely in a USPS flat rate box for about $5 --
