if you want the parts to finish it let me know, I'm very reasonable. I have a stack of DVD's, a few combo's a TON of batteries and I was just about to post some new in box AC's but I also have used ones.
I'm sorta getting away from fixing anything under a T60 so all these older parts will be posted as I go through then.

Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know. But I know a lot of forum members are often looking for barebones machines and I figured I'd skip the hassle of buying parts to complete it.

Threw in a hard drive upgrade for free.

It was brought to my attention that the model number shows it was originally configured with a 1.6GHz CPU. The listing is not a mistake, the CPU was upgraded to 1.7GHz.

You are right! I totally overlooked that. I guess someone did some Frankenpadding with this before I got my hands on it. The T41 model number is from the sticker on the base. The BIOS shows the model number should be 2378-DUU which is a T42 model number. Screen label is T42. Sorry about the oversight, I wasn't trying to deceive anyone.

Product: ThinkPad T42 2378-DUU
Original description: P M 1.5GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b/g wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

As noted before, the CPU was been upgraded.

not a question of deceiving at all...

I was thinking about buying it and in investigating the model number I came upon it..

Thanks,
Ron
