Great deal on x60's

My apologies if this is not the correct place for this....
Just stumbled across a great deal on used x60's at
http://cgi.ebay.com/X60-Ultramobile-Lap ... 1450wt_755 . 275 (including shipping) with mouse etc seems like a steal.
No affiliation with the buyer--just thought someone might appreciate the link.
Wishing I wasn't so heavily invested in my x31 now....

That's funny. I actually had this on my watch list. Probably going to get one to replace my tablet

I went ahead and bought one. For anyone who may be interested, they're 1707-WK5 models. I emailed the seller a couple days ago.

I didn't think they would go as fast as they did. I'll report back once I have a chance to test it out. The same seller also has some T60s for fairly cheap, depending on specs.

almost did it, but now I want an X60t. I'm putting my Kindle and nook friends to shame with an old HP TC4200 running their reader software so I'm going to sell the X40 and X41, get an X60t and then sell the HP. Gotta stay Thinkpad.

Not connected to this vendor but I bought both the X60 and the T60 and couldn't be happier. Both had little keyboard wear and bright display. The T60 came with two AC adapters and multi DVD.

The eBay seller (tech.exchange) is the same one that I bought my X60 systems from in the last two months:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=83660
I believe that these latest systems were initially offered at $295 and they didn't start selling until the price was lowered to $275. I'm hoping that the next batch are at $250

.

So you're telling me I overpaid?
It's good to hear so many positive notes for his seller. There are a lot of hack jobs floating around

These guys are giving stuff away, it's killing the market. I have a X61 Tablet and a Z61T and I really don't have any intention of giving either one away for $250.00

I've owned 3 used computer stores and have been selling them since 95, it's my full time occupation. It just so happens Thinkpads are my main focus and IMHO the best laptop ever made bar none.
Asset management companies dumping product on Ebay for way less than fair market value hurts smaller sellers like me. At one time I was one of eBay's top 10 laptop sellers and Billpoint (remember them) I was their biggest customer. Paypal used to call and pretty much beg me to switch, Paypal even invited me to their IPO.
I'm not just a guy who likes Thinkpads. Laptops are my living.
When IBM and Dell financial started selling on eBay it was the beginning of the end. (I used to gross 5k a day on eBay, it dropped like a ROCK when those guys came onboard)
I'm going back to retail, eBay is dead as far as I'm concerned.

+ 1, although you're obviously a much bigger fish than I ever intend to be...at least on feebay...

Hopefully you have a good brick & mortar location. Good luck, seriously.

It's on life support in my book. Next year, when PayPal starts reporting all of transactions to
our favourite uncle, I'll be out of the game for good...not that there's much of it left to begin with...

Thank you, life support is probably a better term. I do still sell there but NEVER top quality stuff, it just doesn't pull in the money, I listed a WUXGA t60p 3GB 320GB HDD, WWAN, fingerprint reader, ABGN Wireless, bluetooth, XP and MINT (this was about a year ago) biddeing went' to about $500.00 I don't even think the guy gave me a feedback.
I sold a t60p UXGA flexview with simmilar specifications on my website about the same time for $799.00
eBay is a great DUMPING ground for old P3's and stuff. I have a Dell 7500 I bet I get $250.00 for. (I checked it's sales history and one even went for $349.00 within the last 90 days.
I'll buy an Ideapad S10 if mine pulls that

My own experiences have been the exact opposite of what you're describing, but the logic - or any sense of a real competitive market - left eBay a long time ago.
As I've stated in a separate thread a while back, once the sellers were denied the ability to leave buyers negative feedback, the level playing field was gone for good.
Oh, and the next time you feel like giving away a fully loaded T60p, feel free to PM me, I promise to leave you feedback...

scout's honour...

No but if you do buy one and it is XGA I have a new SXGA+ T60 screen I can give a good deal on. Heck, it might be UXGA. (I'd have to check the FRU) I know I have a WUXGA T60 screen.

Ah, you're talking about killing the use "commercial" market...I was thinking more in terms of a private/individual seller. When I buy computer equipment, I just assume that by the time I'm ready to sell I'm not getting anywhere near what I paid for it. Yeah, I can see how companies like this dumping equipment on the market at these prices could hurt businesses like yours but consumers love them.

Ah yes, sad but true. However it's been this way for a long time in varying degrees. Over the last year or more, even Lenovo's coupon programs have collapsed the prices on _new_ ThinkPads to all time lows for what you get. Then when we factor in some of the outstanding deals from the outlet, well so much for sustaining any decent amount of value on a new machine, even if only for a few months. It's just one of the reasons I have quite an extensive "ThinkPad Museum". I've taken such good care of them and they've never been dropped or dinged, thus I would rather enjoy them on display in my office (as well as periodically giving them some use) since I have plenty of room.
.
Cheers...

hey guys, I just got a batch of beautiful flexview UXGA T60p's (2007-94U) If I recall. I can't match that price but if any of you are on the fence and maybe want a little better machine I'll have a post up hopefully tomorrow with the price and specs.
They are CLEAN and the two I inspected today looked new.

I bought a couple of these (the X60 in the thread title) and there were a couple of things in the box I wasn't expecting:
An X6x Ultrabase (with keys, no less) complete with DVD Multi drive and an extra 90w power supply. I thought the the boxes were a little heavy.
Oh yeah, a Lenovo SK-8825 USB keyboard was in there, too.

Same here. Wasn't expecting the base or the Multi-burner. Three day shipping, plus extras. And the machine is absolutely flawless to boot. Amazing seller, if anyone is considering buying from them.

Well, phooey!

Both the X60 systems from that seller came with AC adapters and bags; the second one also had a Lenovo keyboard as well, but no Ultrabase/DVD. On the semi-bright side, I've been able to get two X6 Ultrabases for $15 and $22 (but no keys

). I guess if I decide that I really need keys, there's always
IT Xchange ($30 for one set).
