FS: IBM Thinkpad A20m 500MHz (gauge interest)

#1 Post by vageetasjn » Fri Feb 25, 2005 1:44 am

I have a Thinkpad A20m that was given to me by my cousin, who was upgrading.

500MHz Celeron (128KB L2)
14.1" screen (1024x768) (might be 15")
8MB dedicated Rage Mobility video
Integrated sound (but I can't seem to get it to work in XP, probably something I'm overlooking as it worked in Win98. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=52864#52864)
192MB PC100 (1x64, 1x128)
12GB HD
6x DVD-ROM
Floppy
1 USB port, 1 PS/2 port

This laptop was purchased five years ago at an IBM-premium price of $2200 and has since then apparently seen very minimal usage. The casing is basically markless and seems to be in like-new condition; as is with the keyboard - excellent condition.

I would offer it without an OS or any software, but with the original manual and AC Adapter. The battery seems to be in decent condition for being five years old - it can hold a charge for about 1.5-2 hours of light usage.

So what would you say this is worth?

Thanks

P.S. in the pics, the screen looks like it has a lot of finger prints on it I didn't notice that until seeing the pics.
I would do my best to clean the entire unit if somebody were to buy it. On a related note, there are no dead pixels.

I checked ebay and the Cel500 ones with an OS and similar equiped are going for 150-200 bucks. The P3 models with OS were going for 180-250.

Hape that helps.
