Hello everybody. Last night, my X41 Tablet was going under a bios flash when the most unexpected could happen: A power surge knocked out my computer. Now, its got half a bios (boots to a black, non lit screen), and its my only laptop. I don't have the dough to buy a replacement, so I humbly ask if anybody has an parts X41 tablet board that may be so generous as to donate one, it would be much appreciated. The only thing I can offer is my extensive knowledge on OS X on a Thinkpad for the X41 series, but again I ask, if anybody has any X41 Tablet motherboard for parts or working, please let me know. Thanks for looking,

-thinkpadinside.

Well after trying nearly everything possible, I failed in attempting to revive my X41. So, both my T30 and my X41 Tablet are up for sale, both as parts computers, LOTS of good parts here, would be preferable if there is any way I could trade both to get a dual core think pad, if I'm lucky, with discrete graphics. The hard drives alone on these X41 tablets go for 160, and mine is 60GB. So here are the specs on both units:

1. T30
Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz: Cracked LCD, removed the whole thing since the face bezel was cracked up, but the lid is in good shape, so are the hinges.
512MB RAM
40GB Hdd
Ultranav
Keyboard
Intel wifi.
Green battery
Motherboard: Both ram slots work.
Was a really fast system, till the screen gave up on me(it somehow cracked)
Asking 150$ for everything, motherboards are around 100 and might as well throw everything else for 50.

2. X41 Tablet: Killed by a powersurge
1.5GHz Intel Pentium M
1GB Ram (512 onboard, 512 in the dimm)
60GB HDD
Lenovo pen
Perfect LCD
Good keyboard
Almost brand new battery, used only a few times (Extended 8 cell)
Good intel wifi card.
Asking 200:The hard drive is a 160, The lcd is another 100, plus good casing and pen and awesome battery, taking a huge loss on this one (i paid 450).

Both for 350$ (so i can pick up an old dual core thinkpad)
up for trades, but only for an X41 Tablet motherboard or a dual core thinkpad (i don't care how old or what type, just needs to be dual core like a Z61T)

3. also have 1gb ddr2 533 mhz ram (2x512) available.

4. Abit AA8XE motherboard available, opened box once to look , found it was LGA775 not 478, so never used. Best board to use for a Pentium 4 Extreme rig.~ 30$

Pretty much, I need enough to get this:

Cheap, dual core, widescreen, IBM.
Thanks for looking!

My 600e has a dead battery, so I can't take it anywhere. My T30 LCD died, and my T40 has a bad GPU (which I sold). My T30 is up for parts as well, fully working mobo, 2 ghz p4, 512 ram, 40 gig hdd, trackpad, green battery. The only thing that doesn't work is the LCD. My parts T30 and my OS X knowledge is all i've got to offer.

Do you still have the remains of that T40 with a bad GPU?

There's a reason why I'm asking this.

No George, sold the whole thing. Only thing I got left is the 600e and the t30 parts, and my dead x41t. If somebody has a bios chip, I could solder it on myself, as I have done this kind of stuff before. Are there any ways of recovering the bios? LED lights still up when powered, but nothing on the screen.

You can't re-solder a BIOS chip on a ThinkPad, because it's mated to the security chip. You'd get a 4x4 beep.

Let me see what I can come up with, but it's not going to be a X41T planar.

So there is no chance of a bios recovery? I thought phoenix bios systems had some sort of blind flash mode from a usb drive or usb floppy?

See i don't know how to quite tell whats going on with my X41. I made supposedly a crisdisk for it, I put it in, flash drive blinks once, then it never blinks again. When I shut it off, the flash drive blinks again. I'm not quite sure whats going on, except the laptop does not beep or post or show anything on screen. My key combo i tried as fn+B, but nothing happend.....

A word of friendly advice...take a screwdriver and part both of these and list the parts on feebay. If you're lucky, you might walk away with a T60 or similar once everything is said and done.

Another option, part out the tablet, and get a screen, faster hard drive and more RAM for that T30. That's still a capable enough machine for most purposes as long as you're not doing anything video-intensive.

Good luck.

Another word of friendly advise..forum rules state only one bump allowed on Marketplace items every 3 days. One more 24 hour bump gets this thread locked.
