Not my item: 270564259876 about $200 shipped in U.S. or $185ish after Bing cashback

If you're willing to undervolt yourself, overall you would likely be better off with a regular X41t. But for a machine that's low power without having to do anything, this one seems excellent. I almost bought it myself.

It does NOT include the stylus, and has some defects (read the auction) but does include the hard drive, which I guess you could sell and replace with SSD or CF.

According to the auction and
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X41_Tablet
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Intel_Pen ... 8Dothan%29

if those are all correct, and my reading of those pages is correct, then the TDP of the CPU is only 5 watts. Compared to 10 for the typical tablet. So the fan design might be much quieter, and maximum power use and heat much lower. Also note the lower voltage when idle, 0.812 instead of 0.988. Since heat and battery usage is proportional to the square of voltage, this is a big change.

Again, undervolting by software is actually better IMO than using a ULV cpu, but if for some reason you don't want to do that, or you want to do both and don't care for the extra speed of the 1.5 or 1.6 models, the ULV models of the Dothan are hard to find. Banias ULV are higher voltage.

If you do buy this, please let us know how quiet it is.
