The Good: This is as complete a package as you'll ever come across. It includes the original IBM manuals for the 240X and Win98. Also included are the recovery floppy and CDs and aftermarket PCMCIA CD-ROM with driver on a floppy. Of course, external IBM FDD and original AC adapter (not pictured) are included as well. One item that was new to me are rear port covers. I have never seen these before.

The Bad: This unit had a bad LCD when I received it. The original LCD was a Type B, but I could only locate a Type A panel/assembly. Its not as bright as a Type B and there is a small imperfection (circled in red). The original Type B lid with cable and inverter will be included in case the buyer wants to try and locate a Type B panel. The original lid is in very good condition (better than the Type A lid that's installed).

Batteries: Comes with both flush-fit and extended batteries. I don't have much faith in the flush one. Charged overnight, but after a few minutes of use, the orange charge LED was flashing. The extended one holds more charge. I was able to play around with Win98 for a bit. Don't have any exact numbers since the battery gauge in Win98 provides sparse info.

Additional Details: The 6GB drive works fine, but whirs quite noisily as is typical of pre-fluid bearing drives. Keyboard has minor shine, mostly on the spacebar.
