SOLD!!: 14" T42 - ***Minty Fresh***
Product: Thinkpad T42 2373-M3U
Original Description:
P M 745(1.8GHz)
512MB RAM -> now 1GB (2 x 512MB sticks)
60GB 7200rpm HDD
14.1 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD -> Near new, minty & bright with no stuck pixels
64MB ATI Radeon 9600
24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD
Intel 802.11b/g wireless
Bluetooth/Modem
1Gb Ethernet
UltraNav,
Secure Chip,
Fingerprint Reader
6c Li-Ion battery
WinXP Pro COA Intact-> Fresh install of Win XP Pro from intact recovery partition
Warranty expired
====================================================
I bought this brand-new to have as a back-up system to my other T42's. It has been used very, very little. What use it has had, has been on a mini-dock with an external monitor and keyboard, so the LCD, keyboard and palmrest on this are virtually mint, unused, unworn. I'd guess maybe around 100 hours of use total, with maybe 10-20 hours of use on the LCD, keyboard and palmrest. External case is also nearly mint except for a few slight rubs on the underside of the front bezel.
Here's a link to a set of 29 close-up pictures of this minty beauty: Click here for photo album.
System is in perfect working order, with all hardware working flawlessly. In honor of this sale, I did a fresh install of the OS from the recovery partition. OS is XP Pro sp3 with all critical patches applied, current to 5-15-10.
SOLD!!! Thanks for looking!
Any question, please feel free to email me.
FWIW, I do have some positive feedbacks in the "Fair Traders" thread.

I never run it except on AC, so I don't have any idea how long the battery will last.dorronto wrote:

And with the fresh install from the Recovery Partition, the "Power Maximizer" (or whatever it's called) software isn't telling me anything about the battery details. If you can tell me how to find details on the number of cycles and remaining capacity, let me know and I'll get the details for you.

Looks like it's in really great shape.
I'd buy it if I didn't already have the exact same model T42 (my first Thinkpad).
Awesome.

Re: FS: 14" T42 - ***Minty Fresh***
Hey Joe.
Not to bust your balls, but you do know that was my T42. You used my pictures!
I will definately say that it is one of the nicest looking T42's I've ever seen. I now have a mint T43p which actually is a lot louder, but equally just as fast.
If someone doesn't pick this thing up fast for that price, I may want it back!

How about hovering the mouse over the battery icon on the task bar when the laptop is unplugged and see how much time is left? Do it a couple of times so we have an idea how much time is left when on battery...........
Thanks,
Ron
