I'm moving my T42p system along with all the extras I have and thus I want to get something slightly newer. My plan is get a C2D processor for a 64bit processor, then get the ram up to 3/4GB and eventually drop an ssd into it.

I'm looking either either one of these:

1) T400 with the WXGA+ LCD, ATi switchable graphics, extended battery and in good condition.
2) T60 14", SXGA+, ATi x1300/1400, C2D processor capable for 64bit OS
3) T61 14" Widescreen, WXGA+, Intel Graphics

Let me know what you have via PM. I'd like to restrict this to US only please.

You might want to also choose the LG-Phillips WXGA+ LCD model. The model number I have is LP141WP2-TLB1.

I hear it makes a big difference! I have not seen a CCFL or non-LG Phillips versions of the WXGA+ so I can't say for sure. My screen however is super bright and I appreciate the fine resolution :)

I agree about the screen. The newer screens (identified as backlight LCD) that have LEDs instead of CCFL are MUCH brighter. I have a T400 here that I have played with a little that is really nice. I personally use a W500 with a UXGA screen and when I set it next to the T400, the difference is remarkable. The whites on my screen look gray next to the T400. It will be a few days before the T400 is ready to sell. If you are interested, send me a PM.
