Up for sale is a nice T42 with an almost perfect SXGA+ Flexview screen. This machine has a date of birth of 05/07, so consider it a fairly young T42.

The LCD is bright and clean but does have 2 very small 'nasties' near the center of the screen (pic). There is a 'dot' blemish on either side of the mouse cursor that you can see in the LCD close pic.

The palmrest and keyboard have light shine. On the outside, the top cover has light scratches. The left rear corner was dented and resulted in broken pieces which I superglued back into place (pic). Just for reassurance, the metal frame behind that area did not suffer any damage and the left hinge still operates flawlessly.

I just did a clean install and activation of Windows XP Pro SP3 (there is no recovery partition on the hard drive). All necessary Thinkpad drivers were installed as well.

As a long-time owner of a very similar T42, I can attest that these are among the nicest T4x machines one can probably find. Don't run loud, don't run hot, gorgeous screen, and the late manufacturing date (July 2005) means it uses the new manufacturing process, which should, in theory, make it less prone to GPU-related failures.
