WTB: Vista key

#1 Post by Norway Pad » Mon Jun 28, 2010 4:13 pm

A strange request, but are there anyone here who have changed their OS, or have a damaged computer with Vista Ultimate or even Home Premium, who wants to sell the key?

I simply want to install Vista on one of my home computers and learn how to use and troubleshoot Vista for educational purposes. I upgraded this computer's RAM to 2Gb just for this purpose, but an expired Vista Promotional kit put my project to a halt. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=88356 And I have had no luck in tracing anything anywhere else.

I would however still be interested in doing this, without putting too much money into it. That's why I could be interested in buying an "used" key cheap. This does however require that I can trust that I will be the only one using this key, and that any other computer/hard drive still containing an installation with this particular key will not be used in the future.

I have a Home premium, with the CD if you can use it. The COA is still stuck to the base of the stripped laptop, make an offer. It's a HP DV2000 base with the speakers still in it, See what they go fleabay for and recoup some of your money :)

Please keep in mind that COA is licensed to the specific computer and not transferable. COA keys (sometimes call OEM licenses), by licensing terms, live and die with the computer. The only transferrable OS licenses are either retail or volumne license.

Furthermore, CD restore disks with OS included are sometimes BIOS locked. If it does not see the correct BIOS, it won't install/restore.

TTA and dlai: Thanks for the offer. I got an offer for a retail Ultimate license, but if that doesn't work out, I'll contact one of you guys.

aau007: Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to find a retail license, so I can avoid any problems with any machine specific licenses.
