I want to downgrade my cpu to get better battery life as I need that more than any benefit I'd see from the 6MB L2 or insane speed that this current CPU has.

If possible I want to trade my T9400 (2.53GHz 6MB L2 1066MHz) for a P8400+$100 obo (2.26GHz 3MB L2 1066GHz).

Note Socket P only. 1066GHz mobile processors only.

Only want to trade instead of selling/buying so that I don't get stuck with a CPU I don't need.

Thanks.

Don't expect better battery life switching to a P-series processor. I recently had the same fear of reduced battery with the T9400 in my T400, but they were quickly put down:

I see a average of about 10% increase in battery when switch from a T series ( T9400 ) to a P series CPU ( P8400 in this case ). Whether it is a big enough difference is very subjective based on your usage pattern and why you want to switch.

Interesting. I guess I'll have to do some more research. I thought I'd loose the CPU as I don't have an LED LCD which means when on battery my power is like 15W+
