the basics:
ThinkPad T40p 2373-KU1
Original description: Based 2373-G1U:

512MB RAM
40GB 5400rpm HDD...............NONE (cover is included)
14.1 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD
64MB ATI FireGL 9000
16x10x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD
Bluetooth/Modem
1GB Ether
option......................now Intel 2200BG
Sec Chip
UltraNav....................NONE, please read below
9 cell Li-Ion
WinXP Home...........COA intact
This particular ThinkPad was slightly modded by myself a few years ago, as per friend's request at the time, and has now been traded in towards a 15" T43p purchase.
Although 1.7 Dothan doesn't offer much speed improvement over the original 1.6 Banias, you can feel the difference when multiple programs are ran simultaneously. The machine also runs cooler by 10-15%.
The previous owner of this unit was a touchpad-hater, so the original palmrest was replaced by one that has no UltraNav.
Overall, this oldie is in fine shape with normal wear on the lid/bottom and some keyboard/palmrest shine. Still a very presentable first-generation (Mexico-built) T4x machine by anyone's standards.
The warranty on this ThinkPad has long since expired, but it has been fully tested against all the usual bugs, and passed with flying colours. It will be guaranteed against DOA and to arrive as described.
Asking $149 firm shipped within U.S. or $135 + shipping at cost to most locations worldwide.
PM or email me directly to tataslonATaol.com with any questions/concerns.
