Hi,

I need a new motherboard for my 2379-DJU (T41). It has SXGA, so R 9000 graphics or better is required.
Mine got the Southbridge problem. I received a 2379-D5U off E-Bay yesterday but it appears the GPU is bad (all networking and PCMCIA fails in Windows XP, Ubuntu fails to start eth1 card, still testing, but probably bad).

I prefer a motherboard on the base.

Located in USA.

Any fully functioning T40/1/2 or R50/1 mobo with ATI GPU (even the ATI 7500) will do.

T43 and it's sister R52 use different CPU and RAM from the T40/1/2 and R50/1 and cause the merely annoying 'Error 2010' message when using non-IBM-approved hard disks (but can be bypassed via BIOS update).
For SXGA+ in 14.1" models these too need to have the ATI (X300) GPU.

Yes, it's 14.1 SXGA, so it needs ATI Radeon 9000 or better, for any T40-42 board. I've read about mixed success with the 7500.
I forgot about the T43's using a different CPU/memory. For a T43 I'd want a CPU, 1GB+ memory, 9000 or better graphics, base - basically everything but the HDD, CD/DVD drive, keyboard, and LCD.
