Looking for: T43 Heatsink GPU Thermal Pad
Dear all,
The thermal pad under between the heatsink and the ATI GPU in my old T43 seems soiled. My machine is overheating.
I am looking to replace the pad and see if it fixes my problem, but I can't find anywhere to buy a compatible/OEM thermal pad. May I know if anyone in here can give me a hint, or offer a sales?
Thanks a lot in advance
Campion

Why not just use thermal paste? better performance than the pad. Pads are a compromise for thermal management, most of the function is for making up a gap between device and the heatsink.

Re: Looking for: T43 Heatsink GPU Thermal Pad
The amount of thermal paste needed to close the gap would start acting as a direct opposite of what it was originally intended for...
A copper coin will do a much better job.
To OP: I doubt you'll find the pad by itself. It might be available through IBM parts, but they usually bundle several items into one offering of that kind...
Good luck.

Re: Looking for: T43 Heatsink GPU Thermal Pad
As George mentioned, it may be difficult to locate just the pad. I do have a complete long fan assembly with the GPU pad available if you would like. If your T43 doesn't have a long fan, this will help with the cooling as well. Shoot me a PM or email if this interests you.
