Hey there. My sister's asked me to look for a notebook for her(her first, actually). She's poked around with my X200 and liked it, and was wanting one, or at least something similar. She gave me her budget, and I think I can get an X200 for her. However, since she is on a limited budget and every dollar counts, I'm willing to take a look at any other X-series that might be up for sale... X61 might be good, and possibly X60.


So... anyone here have an X-series they're willing to sell?

Did you see the new X200 over on buy.com for $600? That's with a three year warranty. It's said low stock for a few days now. Maybe they're out, but it's worth a shot if it's within your budget.

Thanks for the lead! That's about the upper end of the budget, but the specs are pretty close to the one I have. I'll let her know and see what she thinks.

I just bought from Buy.com's eBay store - it was actually 609 a day ago on sale!

That's the route she went as well. Pretty good spec, other than the 1GB of RAM. I've got a spare 1GB stick laying around when I upgraded my T400 to 4GB, though; I'll throw it in her machine when she gets it.

Yeah, fro $600 and three year warranty, that's tough to pass up. A new X201 will cost at least 50% more for little performance increase.

Well, my sister ended up snagging the X200. It was on the upper end of her budget, but I'm sure it'll serve her well for many years, and she'll be as happy with it as I am with mine. Major thanks to FredGarvin for pointing out the sale!
