I'm selling the above mint condition Thinkpad W500, which was custom ordered from Lenovo last Thanksgiving. I added a few items to make it a real screaming mobile workstation. The factory 320GB drive was moved to the Ultrabay and an Intel 80GB SSD took over the main bay. Boot time from power off to desktop is ~35 seconds and most applications open in under a second. The original Ultrabay DVD drive was put in a slim external enclosure. Also included in the deal is a Thinkpad Advanced Mini Dock (4x USB, Ethernet, VGA, DVI, audio, etc).
I spec'd this system as a software development and rendering platform, and it works fantastic in that capacity. Unfortunately, I haven't found any contracts in my field for a while now, so it is passed time I let it go. As stated above, the unit is in immaculate condition; there isn't a scratch, dent, dead pixel, wear mark, or anything on it. I used it only a couple of times before my contract was cancelled, so the system has seen less than 40 hours total operating time. Thinkpad power manager shows the battery has 99% remaining life (55.36 of 56.16 Wh) and a cycle count of 4.
Total cost of the system was over $1900 new (with steep black Friday discounts to boot), which makes this a pretty sweet deal. I'd also sell it without the SSD for $200 less. I'm sure whoever buys it will be ecstatic with it, but to allay any fears I'll also offer a 10 day money back guarantee. If you are interested, PM me and I will send you the serial number so you can verify components and warranty. Pictures are also available on request.
