the basics:
X41T 1867-CTO
1.5 ULV Dothan CPU
1.25 GB RAM
40 GB hard drive with recovery partition intact
12" XGA LCD
Intel 900 graphics
Intel 2200 BG wireless card
Modem, LAN
8-cell battery with 2 cycles, holds better than designed charge
No BT or FPR
XP Tablet COA
Pen included
AC adapter not included
extras:
- Ultrabase with CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive
- original ThinkPad tablet sleeve/bag that allows you to use the tablet while in it
Known issues, imperfections, caveats:
- There is an issue within this ThinkPad's charging circuitry: the machine "believes" that the AC adapter is always plugged in. It will charge the battery, but will show it as being currently charged even while it's discharging. One has to guesstimate the battery run time with this one - my best guess would be about 4 hours with wireless on, but YMMV and no guarantee on that aspect of the machine whatsoever. Furthermore, when the laptop is turned off, the battery light stays on. No clue on what is causing this, if you're into troubleshooting this type of stuff, be my guest by all means once the unit is in your possession.
- The key is broken off in the lock of the base. The base is in unlocked position, though.
- Some wear and tear on the outside, but overall a very clean machine for its age. No flaws on the LCD that I'm able to detect, clean plastics, quiet and cool-running unit.
I'd positively hate to part this one out since it's quite clean, but have no use for it. If you can live with the charging idiosyncrasy, this is an opportunity to grab a complete X41T setup for a price that reflects the aforementioned imperfection with a deep discount...
Asking $150 firm plus shipping at cost to most locations worldwide. Not interested in selling the unit without the base, or vice versa. I could take the hard drive out and knock $30 off, but that's about it when it comes to downgrades.
