I have a SUN SPARCstation 5 for sale, not sure how much it is worth but I looked them up on ebay and there very expensive, $150-$600. Not sure how much to sell mine on there but heres what condition it is in. It is in like new shape, has a CD-ROM Drive and a New SCSI-IDE adapter in package and a Adapter to VGA for use with todays computers. I've powered it on and read the error on the screen saying Error No keyboard detected. and thats far as I got. It has 2 sticks of RAM in it but not sure what size and a SCSI HDD in it, looks to be not connected, maybe thats what this adapter in the box is for.

I'll post images later if wanting.

Reminds me of all nighters in the engineering computer labs in college. Not sure if that's good or bad, though...

my 2 cents, if I can....

do not base your price estimation on ebay, since that place tends to have plenty of exaggerated prices... at worst check the auctions that managed to actually sell something, not the ones that ended with 0 bidders.

I was probably going to sell it for $20 as I got it for free from a guy at work. All I bought for it was the VGA adapter So I could see if it would work and It flashed a screen saying No keyboard detected. I don't know how old the SUNs are and just woundering if its worth anything like my Apple Macintosh M5011.

You need a special SUN keyboard for those old machines. I have an Ultra 5 with the keyboard and a funky optical/IR mouse that needs a special mirrored mousepad with colored lines to work. It is getting harder and more expensive to get the correct mouse and keyboard these days.

Some people collect them, but I don't think they are worth that much.

I looked them up online and they ranged new when first came out $20,000  Today to me this would be around $10-$20 for this thing. I will admit this seems well built and solid. I wish I could put it to use. And the keyboard and mouse are one. There like the apple desktops, the mouse plugs into the keyboard. If this was a IBM desktop, I would probably keep it as I like IBM PCs, currently using my IBM ThinkPad X30. I remember when IBM owned the ThinkPad, they were alot of money, a T series ranged from $1000-$2000 and the R series was the cheapest ThinkPad you could get, Starting around $699.99 The X series on lenovo now has come down very cheap, atleast the X100e $499
