SOLD: T60 Complete, but poor cosmetics - $125 delivered

#1 Post by underclocker » Fri Feb 04, 2011 9:39 pm

SOLD to forum member: This one isn't pretty. This is a complete T60 that certainly seems to work perfectly - I've used it for videos, output to an HDTV, surfing the web, all USB ports are working, etc. - but it has many cosmetic parts that are (at least) slightly damaged.

The Good
-It works
-Hard drive seems fine
-Memory seems fine
-LCD is bright, but has two minor hot spots
-LCD cover looks good with only light wear/scuffs
-LCD hinges are quite good
-Keyboard works fine (but is somewhat shiny, all letters show perfectly)
-Optical drive works fine (although it's from a T4x machine, curved bezel vs. flat bezel)
-The hard drive cover, rubber rails, caddy and screws are all fine
-The CPU, fan, wifi adapter and all internals seem just fine - the fan is quiet
-I do not see any missing screws
-The AC adapter works perfectly

The Bad
-LCD is bright, but has two minor hot spots
-Optical drive works fine (although it's from a T4x machine, curved bezel vs. flat bezel)
-The base plastics have a chunk missing in front of the left speaker, a small piece missing near the PC Card slot, and the PC Card slot plastic cover is missing (please assume the subframe is not perfect either)
-The keyboard bezel has a minor chip
-The palmrest has a screw tip size hole in it where someone inserted a screw that was too long and punctured the plastic
-The battery is good for about 30 minutes

Bottom line, the machine works, but it's not pretty. I'd say it's worth using as is or for parts, but not restoring, it would need too many cosmetic parts. Full specifications are below.

Thank you. That is unfortunately funny and too often true, but I priced this one accordingly.
