I upgraded the wifi to a bcm94306mpsg. I can get it to show up in the device manager but can get no further. Anyone here have any suggestions? The IBM software does not see the card, broadcom software does not see the card. I cannot find a reference to blue tooth in the bios. When I press Fn F5 to activate the card the only thing showing is the wifi. Help

ps
the wireless functions work perfectly it is only the bluetooth portion that is making me nuts

That is just an ordinary wifi card, no Bluetooth in there.
For BT you need to replace the modem with a modem/BT combo card, such as the BMDC200.

Is an atenna required when installing a BT card?
I have a T41 with wireless but no BT. I don't know if it has a BT antenna or not.

I have an X31 that is wireless ready. So, it has wireless antennae but no wireless card.
It doesn't have BT either and I don't know if it has a BT antenna.

Thanks

BT needs an antenna.
If you remove the keyboard, check under the modem-card if there is a white antenna-wire there (folded up/hidden in white plastic). If yes, you're in business. If no, try and find one in in the Marketforum or on eBay or here: http://www.bobjohnson.com/products/R50-91P6817.asp

In your X31, check for part # 19 on page 152/HMM
You can use the same BT/Modem or BT only card as in the T4x.
