FS/WTT: ThinkPad X300. Great shape - $599 - onsite warranty!

#1 Post by ThinkRob » Wed Feb 16, 2011 12:54 pm

Yes. I'm selling it. My second-favorite ThinkPad of all time. Sigh.

Alright, enough sentimentalism. Here's what's on offer:

Specifications

Code: Select all

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo - L7100
RAM: 3 GB
WLAN: Intel WiFi Link 5100
HD: 64GB *SLC* SSD (massively longer lifespan than the common MLC drives)
Camera: included
Battery: 6-cell "slice", see below.
Warranty

Onsite warranty w/ ThinkPlus until 25-06-2011.

Battery info:

Code: Select all

rob@kestrel> cd /sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0
rob@kestrel> cat manufacturer
SANYO
rob@kestrel> cat model
42T4522
rob@kestrel> cat cycle_count
167
rob@kestrel> cat serial
379
rob@kestrel> cat barcoding
1ZEWU85W0BG
rob@kestrel> cat manufacture_date
2008-05-28
Accessories

Included in the offer are a set of spare TrackPoint caps (mixed types, 3+ of whatever I've got on hand), a 65W AC adapter, and a classic IBM sticker. Yeah, you know you want that sticker.

I'll also do a full cleaning of the machine, inside and out, prior to dispatch. It's in great condition now, but believe me when I say it'll look absolutely regal when you get it.

Price / Payment

Price is $599.00. Price can also be dropped down if you don't want some components.

I would prefer trade for a T410, but will consider all trade offers.

I can accept payment via PayPal, USPS money order, or Western Union/Money Gram. If paying via PayPal, the price will be adjusted to cover PayPal fees (as determined via this tool.)

Shipping

Shipping anywhere in the continental US is free. Insurance is optional, but very strongly recommended. Express shipping, or shipping via a carrier other than USPS is also available -- contact me for details.

I will ship outside of the US, but doing so will incur additional cost. Due to the variations in customs and international shipping, I can make no guarantees after the machine leaves my possession. If shipping internationally I will not mark the machine as a gift, under-declare its value, or otherwise misrepresent it.

Questions?

If you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you want pictures, drop me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send some your way.

Cheers,
Rob

If it was advertised for $665 I might consider it. Why post it for $666...just to be cute? Oh look, I am selling my laptop for the same number as the sign of Satan.. Way cool dude, you da man.

Actually, I was thinking of the pricing for the original Apple I.

So yes, just to be "cute". That, and I figured it would draw some attention (although in this case, apparently not the right sort of attention...)

As it obviously troubles you, I've dropped the price to $660.99.

.... consider not posting the serial-number..

#4 Post by Johan » Sat Feb 26, 2011 11:46 am

It is often recommended NOT to post in the public matching model/type and serial numbers, so you might want to leave out (the entire or part of) the serial number. Also, posting pictures and/or links to pictures might be of interest for potential buyers. Good luck with the sale!

Presumably to stop warranty fraud? Either way, post amended...

Price drop to 599. Seriously? One of the best ThinkPads ever made for $599? Yep. Now's your chance.
