WTB: T60 Battery

#1 Post by mrbuddha09 » Fri Feb 18, 2011 1:47 am

Hi there.

My poor laptop battery sadly and unexpectedly crapped out and no longer carries a charge.

Please shoot me a PM and let me know if you have a replacement, the remaining cycles, etc.

And if you have a suggestion of where to find a cheap replacement, that would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

-Robbie

You might consider the Dr. Battery green series .... these use Boston Power Sonata cells, which are supposed to be better. There are a few reports about them here in the forums, and the price is pretty good at a couple of sites (battdepot.com and laptopcharge) where, unfortunately, they're backordered for 14" T60s. They're around $70 shipped ...

They're not really cheap, but they're substantially less than a lenovo battery and presumably they're better ... (your mileage may vary)

Just a thought ...

If you get a non lenovo battery you'll be getting a pesky warning message you're using a non genuine lenovo battery.

Every now and then they have these so-called refurbished batteries available. If I were you, I would grab one as quickly as possible:

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Thanks Jason. I checked out those two websites and they are definitely out of my price range for a battery. Thanks for the recommendation however!

Some additional information...

While Power Manager shows the big red battery sign, implying replacement is necessary, the advanced option shows the battery at 100% charged, and:

37.74 Full charge capacity
56.16 Design capacity
cycle count 50

When I disconnect the AC power adapter, the laptop shuts off. Any solution so that I can "jumpstart" into working order? Seems to me that 37.74 out of 56.16 remaining should equal a decent performing battery. Thanks in advance for any advice!

And if this fails, any other T60 batteries offers?

Did you already try "perform reset" under Battery Maintenance in Power Manager?
