I have an R61 in nice condition for sale. It has the T8100 Penryn Core 2 Duo CPU, an Intel X3100 GPU, and factory Atheros wireless 'N'. 6 months of warranty left. The LCD is flawless and bright, and the keyboard has very slight wear. No major scratches and no cracked plastics. The battery is a brand new (zero cycles) genuine Lenovo 9 cell.

MIke, it connects at 300Mbps on my Cisco dual channel router. It's an Atheros 'N' card from the factory. Parts lookup shows it as FRU# 42T0825. Google shows FRU# 42T0825 as an Atheros Communications Inc. AR5008 based. Google shows an AR5008 as Draft N , and per the manufacturer has 2.4/5 GHz Dual-band Operation.

You get an A+. The card is an A+ too, 300Mbps AR5008 is good. I have to decide if I want to go this heavy, or hold out for a lighter T series machine. I am replacing a T43.

Without batteries -

14'1" Widescreen R61 = 5.2lbs.
14'1" Widescreen T61= 5.0lbs
14" T43 = 4.9lbs.

T43 to R61, Difference = .3 lbs (Approx. 5ozs. A tennis ball weighs 2ozs )

So, next time you have the T43 in a backpack, throw a couple of tennis balls in there. That's what an R61 feels like.
