ISO a working, or not, IBM Thinkpad T30 for parts. Specifically, I need to replace the LCD screen so, obviously, that part must be working and in good shape. Thanks.

Didn't you see the tread
(5) IBM Thinkpad T30 laptops just a few posts below yours here on the Marketplace? To me that seems as just what you're looking for?!

Yes, I saw that and pm'd the author. Haven't heard back yet but....as I just did it a couple of hours ago that's not surprising. I also put this out there as it appeared someone had beat me to the punch. Still looking at this point. Thanks though.

For the most part getting whole machines is cheaper then buying seperate parts (like screens).
As far as CSB1's T30's, I purchased one recently from him with a few other machines and it did work (one bad RAM slot) and wasn't bad looking either.

As far as the dead RAM slot...have you tried the credit card trick? I did it on my T30 and the slot works just fine. You place the RAM and then put a slice of a credit card(or two in my case) on top. When you put the cover back on it puts a tiny bit of pressure on the RAM and it suddenly works. Weird but effective for me.

On all of my "fixed" slots, I always shim the modules. Normally with some think cardboard, like from the back of a legal pad. Im a belt, suspenders and duct tape kind of person!
