WTB: T61p For Video Editing

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a 15" T61p with an ips display. I need a machine for video editing for a school project.

1) There are no T61p machines with 15" IPS screen.
15" IPS is only available in standard 4:3 format.
T61 have either 14.1" 4:3 standard screen, 14.1" widescreen or 15.4" widescreen.
2) You do not want a T61 with nVidia GPU, UNLESS the motherboard has been recently replaced by Lenovo.
3) Some people have successfully made a Frankenpad by putting a T61 motherboard in a T60 base (quite a job).

If you want 15" IPS you are limited to A31p, T43p, R50p or T60p (or put a hard-to-find IPS LCD in another 15" model).
The T60p is your most modern contender.

I have a 15.4" widescreen T61p. It doesn't have IPS but does have the next best LCD panel, one made by LG.
