SOLD: *NEW* T60p UXGA 2007-94U IBM warranty new price

Up for sale is a T60p (2007-94U) under IBM on-site warranty until August 2, 2011. I bought this over eBay 6 months ago thinking I'd keep it for myself, but have decided to part with it. It was sold to me as new and never used, and I see no reason to question the claim. I fired it up once, just to make sure that it works (it does!), and it booted to the XP Pro user setup/registration screen.

The laptop is in super shape, but doesn't come in its box. The UXGA Flexview screen is absolutely bright and beautiful, with no dead pixels or blemishes whatsoever. Apparently its original owner took it out of its box and put it on a shelf; there is a very light scratch (almost imperceptible) on the top of the LCD cover, and a slight scratch on the bottom of the base. Otherwise it's in perfect condition.

The laptop is under IBM on-site warranty until August 2, 2011. Check here to see its configuration.

It comes with its 90W charger, but that's it. The original documentation, etc. has been lost. It needs a battery (not supplied).

I'm asking $600, US sales only, with shipping on me. If payment is by Paypal, add 3%. Reasonable offers will be considered. :)

Add $40 and I'll throw in a memory upgrade to 4GB (2 matching 2GB DRAMS to max out memory and provide dual channel mode). Of course, the T60 line is hardware limited and can only recognize 3GB, even if using a 64-bit OS.

I've sold on this forum before, but have no feedback. You can check my reputation on eBay (username 536NR).

Edits:
(4/05): I have feedback on the forum now. Thanks, jet757f! Also, added willingness to consider reasonable offers.
(4/10): lowered price by $100
(4/12): added updated info on the battery; lowered price accordingly.
(4/16): lowered price.

Two questions:

What's this T60P's serial number? (I'd like to see if the warranty can be extended past August.)

Does the machine come with the original 9-cell battery?

Thanks

I checked on the Lenovo website and the on-site warranty can be extended (in the US, at least) for three years. The cost is $152.00.

About the battery, more good news. The battery has been recalled, so you should be able to send it in and get a brand-new battery. And, yes, the battery is a nine-cell battery.

Not to crap your FS thread, but I'm certain that you read the warranty extension information wrong.

What is the production date on the bottom of the machine? The maximum you can get on any ThinkPad is five years from the original purchase date which will likely be pretty close to that one.

I'm glad you asked the question. I had entered the laptop's warranty information on the Lenovo website and it offered the 3-year extension that I reported in my previous post. However, when I spoke with a Lenovo service rep (it wasn't easy to find the right one to talk to, believe me!), she confirmed what you said. So, here's the bottom line: the laptop is under warranty until August 2, 2011, but its warranty cannot be extended.

Regarding the battery, it appears that I was mislead again. The battery needs to be replaced, but Lenovo won't do it. I'll edit the FS post to reflect this information.

Again, I appreciate your post. I didn't mean to mislead, but I'm wiser for the experience. I know better now than to take Lenovo's website at face value.

You *should* be able to get a total of five years, but you might have to drop the onsite portion and switch to depot warranty.

I did this about a year ago on a machine that was the same model number as yours.

You will be looking for a five-year depot warranty.

If you decide to call them back, that is..

Good luck.

Wow, sounds like a nice machine and exactly what I'm looking for :D
Unfortunately, more $$$ than I wanted to spend.
