I really wasn't planning on letting this one go, but things are getting hairy at my workplace and we have been told in no uncertain terms that *ALL* personal stuff must be removed from any and all spaces/lockers and whatnots. That leaves this fine classic ThinkPad with no role in my life as of now, which is quite sad, but I'm sure it will find a good home here on the Forum...
For an eight-year old unit it looks and performs fabulous. Apart from some fairly heavy wear on the lid, the machine is in splendid condition. The screen is as nice as any non-IPS panel I've ever seen, bright and flawless.
The machine is an early, Mexico-built unit with the date of April 2003, and as far as I can tell, still has its original - most likely pre-RoHS - motherboard. No signs of any GPU/Southbridge problems, runs cool and quiet with no issues that I can detect.
I've been out of loop for some time, and am aware that prices have gone down significantly...if you're seriously interested in this fine piece of ThinkPad history, feel free to shoot me a PM with an offer...
