If anyone has an incomplete T4x/R5x keyboard they are using for parts, I am after a few of the little plastic pieces that connect the keytop to the keyboard.

For keyboard FRU# 93P4780 MODEL RM87-US, TYPE i-05.

It looks like there are parts broken off where I have circled, so those need replacing. It is a regular height key.

Also, my friend has a 15" R50 with no right-arrow key, although the keytop still exists. I am pretty sure it is the same style of attachment. I need a full hinge including the part that sits flush on the keyboard base. The mechanism from any low height key will probably do. The "A" and "S" keytops are also worn and could do with replacing (optional).

I wouldn't mind a couple of spare sets as well, for future use.

The hinge parts can be disassembled and loose, so they can be posted in a regular envelope.

Let me know how much you want, or will trade for 2 modules of memory, both are: DDR2 SODIMM PC2-5200 667MHz 512MB

There were three different types of keyboards used on the T42 and the hinges for each are different. You might check out this ebay seller in Canada.

He has pictures you can match with your keyboard to get the proper type. He also ships to AUS for US$2.50.

Thanks for the information, 91011. I was not aware there were different mechanisms for the key hinges within the T/R range. Also good to know there is a source for these things if my request here is unsuccessful.

I have amended the first post to provide more details.

EDIT:
Closing this now. I have all the spare keyboard parts I need.
