It is about 2 months shy from 3 year warranty. Mint condition. No wear or scratch or dents as I see. Maybe very small scratch not negligible.

I am going with a high config T420s with a DIY X61s, so need to let go of this to meet financial ends - as my wife just got pregnant, need to spend a lot on insurance and stuff.

Up for saleis a used HP EliteBook 8540w Mobile Workstation. Translation: a high-performance 15.6" business laptop. It features HP's gorgeous DreamColor 2 display, using IPS technology for superior viewing angles and color reproduction, far exceeding anything ever seen in older FlexView ThinkPads. It offers a 1920-by-1080 pixels resolution for super-sharp imagery.

Under the hood is the Intel i7 620m dual-core processor. It clocks in at 2.66GHz, up to 3.33GHz for single-core applications, and 3.06GHz for dual-core applications, and includes 4MB of cache. Powering the display is the AMD FirePro m5800 dedicated card, with 1GB of GDDR3 memory. This is a very sporty card for every application, and supports 10-bit color formats as afforded by the DreamColor 2 display. For memory is 8GB of DDR3-1333 (running at 1333MHz, in a2x4GB dual-channel configuration.) For optical media, there is a DVD RW drive, and in case you wish to use a second hard drive for additional storage, or for a RAID application, a hard drive bay bracket is included.

For wifi, Intel Centrino 6300 Ultimate offers high-performance wireless networking at both 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies. The HP un2420 Gobi 2000 wireless WAN card offers cellular connectivity on your choice of carriers (no SIM is included, the card was used with Verizon but you can change to other carriers using HP's utility.) Other connectivity options include three USB 2 ports, two USB 3 ports, gigabit ethernet, 56k dialup modem, VGA, DisplayPort (fullsize,) eSATA, Firewire, separate audio in-and-out jacks, a multi-format media card reader, and a 54mm expresscard slot. Above the display is a 1.3 megapixel web cam, and a digital microphone array.

For condition, it is perfect, like-new, unscratched, There are no scratches on the screen, casing bits, keyboard, or touchpad. It was used for a little over a month, and still has the remaining balance of the 3 year warranty. This machine plus extras retails new for well over $2,500.

Include 3 sets of 150 watt AC adapters and 2 power cords. Laptop will be shipped in the original packaging.

Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, with genuine license.

This is a fantastic system at an amazing price. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I didn't already have the big brother 8740w. Heck, I'm still tempted to take a stab at this bad boy. The Dreamcolor 2 is the single best laptop screen out there, bar none.
