I'm not aware of any AFFS SXGA+ panels in 1400x1050, but many people here (including myself) have transplanted the X61T SXGA+ IPS panel into the X61 series. They really are the ultimate mobile machine. If you transplanted the SSD from the HP it would really make the X61 fly.

haha, you got it!

I actually have 6 SSDs

2 C300 256G
2 Intel X18 160G
Vertex III 120G
C400 128G

besides the one I installed on my desktop (vertex II)

I really need a perfect system to memorize my experience with thinkpads - as the systems are getting crappy by the generation. I got my T420s and sold the same day. Got X220 today and just sold it. Cannot stand the screen ratio, and poor TN technology on T420s.

I guess CPU power is not such as big issue for me, so X61 with T9300 (one of my friends got one) or X61s with L7700 w/ AFFS SGXA are really my dream systems.

If you guys have such a perfect system, let me know, I might be willing to trade off my HP 8540w w/ DC2 with you.

If you don't mind a bit of imperfections, I do have my X61s that I want to trade with the HP (I'll add some cash of course).
I retrofitted the SXGA+ panel with a glass layer in front, so the bezel bulges out a bit and the laptop can't close completely. I've put some tape around the sides to hold the bezel in place. Don't know if you want such a heavy DIY system but it works great

hi friend, yes it is me.

51nb has more X61 systems, but most of the guys are in China (or Korea I guess)

I'd be willing to transact in US more, less frictional cost
