WTB: ThinkPad T-series or X-series

#1 Post by articfox » Wed May 04, 2011 10:44 am

Hi. I'm looking to buy a T-series machine for $200-$500. What have y'all got? High-res displays are important to me. 4:3 aspect ratio is preferred. Thanks.

Update: also potentially interested in X Series. Not tablets though. I'm still looking for high-res, 4:3 ratio, but smaller screens are fine. CD/DVD drive is a must (I'm not sure if some of the X's do not have these).

Thank you all for your PM's and responses so far. I'm confident I'll find something just right.

You may also want to see the threads FS: Beautiful MINT T60 ThinkPads with 15" SXGA+ Flexview and T60 - the best Thinkpad ever made?... and especially if you're looking for a superb ThinkPad with a 4:3 sized LCD, then FlexView/IPS is the way to go :!: Pop in a fast SSD (e.g. an Intel X25-M) in a T60, and update to Windows 7 - then you'll simply fly... as e.g. evident from this recent user report ! :-)

Good luck with your new ThinkPad! :thumbs-UP:

Thanks for all of your offers and advice, especially those two posts on the T60, Johan. I settled on a T60 and T400 both from one forum member--I think they'll be just what I was looking for.
