I have an X61 for sale that would make a good parts machine, or can be repaired. It is missing the PCMCIA door, so the top case would need to be replaced to fix that. The battery is shot. The bottom case is in good condition (but the XP COA sticker is missing) and the keyboard is very good. The LCD is bright and works fine, but it has quite a few small spots on the outside layer of the LCD. Keytop scuffs? The Thinklight is non-functional. I have not looked into why that is, but that repair usually requires an LCD cable. The LCD lid has no major scratches, but it does have the usual corner wear from being put into a sleeve. One of the bottom rubber feet is missing. Most of the paint has flaked off of the memory door. This machine has (2) fans, the small fan is fine but the large fan while it works it is noisy and would have to be replaced eventually. Other than these items, the laptop boots up to XP fine and the recovery partition is intact and works.
Here is the current configuration;
7673-74U
Intel Core 2 Duo T7300(2GHz)
1.5GB RAM
80GB 5400rpm HD
12.1in 1024x768 LCD
Intel X3100
Intel 802.11agn(n-disabled)
Bluetooth
Modem
1Gb Ethernet
Secure chip
FIngerprint reader
8c Li-Ion
WinXP Pro
Due to it's condition it is being sold as is, but I will guarantee non-DOA.
