Thanks
automobus, and thanks
ThinkRob. It
is a 14.1" 4:3 standard ratio screen. And it turns out it
is indeed
1400x1050 SXGA+ original Lenovo LCD factory parts all the way. Thanks to your questions I retraced my steps and just had to update a driver. Silly me
This may help someone else who may
not be getting the full resolution out of their LCD.
These steps are specific to the Thinkpad R60 9457-Y1R but just go to the Lenovo website, use "Quick Path" and follow a similar procedure for your particular model:
(1) Make sure you have the latest BIOS version from the Lenovo website here:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_SE/researc ... MIGR-64283
(2) Download and install the ATI display driver from the Lenovo website
* (3) Do the latest Windows updates and choose to install optional
hardware updates including, in this case, the Intel 950 Express Chipset driver. (This is where I was missing it).
I updated my listing above with the correct information and took a new picture of my display properties:

P.S. It seems that the LCD was already using SXGA+ resolution once I got down to step 2 (installed the ATI display driver), and set Resolution to the highest (right-click when in main desktop window, choose "Properties", then "Settings"). So I was already using SXGA+ resolution since I know what that looks like , but the numbers in my "Display Properties" kept showing SXGA (1280x1024), which I suppose, as
automobus rightly points out, wouldn't make sense for a 14.1" 4:3 standard size display. In any case, you wanna make sure you have all your display drivers properly recognized and configured so Windows can utilize all video features of a high resolution SXGA+ display when playing a video, game,or any other graphics intensive application.
Have a great night,
Daniel:)
