Warranty and Protection Plan - some questions
Im looking at buying a new Thinkpad and want to get a rather long extended warranty and TPP. I will buy the machine in the US, where I spend very little time a year - I reside between Argentina and the USA. Im somewhat concerned about the response from Lenovo Argentina should I need to call upon the warranty and protection plan when Im outside of the USA.
Many years ago, IBM sold separate warranty & support service agreements, and you could purchase a separate and more expensive International Coverage Plan (or so I remember).... now, it seems like this specific international coverage is no longer offered by Lenovo.... this means that I am assuming that if I get a 4 year Onsite + 4 year TPP and need service oustide the USA, Lenovo will cover me.... or is this just wishful thinking on my part...?
Also, if someone has a link to the actual service contract (and fine print) of what the Onsite Service and TPP actually covers, please be so kind as to post the link here.... I would be very interested in reading through the fine print.
Finally... if others here with extended warranty have ever had to call upon Lenovo to deliver assistance and service when outside the US, please be so kind as to share your experiences here. Any further comment, advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Alex

Alex
From what you mentioned the experience you had with the T43p was satisfactory after they had all the purchase information.
I sent you an email too.

Re: Warranty and Protection Plan - some questions
My understanding is that one should inquire locally, because not all services are available everywhere.
I recently sold a X61T to Canada, covered by on-site warranty, which was honoured over there.
Several machines that I've sold to Europe over the course of years had to be sent in, although U.S. service agreement was an on-site one.
Make calls, don't take "no" for an answer and you'll find out what you need to know.
My $0.02 only...
Good luck.

That depends on the model number.
Not all machines are covered everywhere.
Do *plenty* of research before purchase...
