There's been talk of fuel cells for years, I am very surprised to read that these things are still at the prototype stage
You do realise that for the last 30 years or so oil companies have bought the patents, technology, rights etc for such 'alternative' technologies in order to keep their businesses ticking along don't you? It's one huge cover up that just gets swept under the carpet and it's the reason why we never seem to have fossil-fuel replacements ready or at an advanced stage......Batuta wrote:Just a few weeks ago we had a presentation of "cars of the future" here in the company and I was very disappointed to find out how unreliable, costly and under-developed fuel cell technology still is.
I can't prove it because I do not have a source to quote but I've read about it and it's made the off headline here and there (no, not on the BBCJHEM wrote:That's nonsense Steve, and you should know better
You've got to stop reading the Guardian Steve!Steve007 wrote:I can't prove it because I do not have a source to quote but I've read about it and it's made the off headline here and there (no, not on the BBC). It seems legitimate and perfectly plausible to me. I can quite believe it goes on.
Hear, hear Rick. Where are the tree-huggers when it comes time to buy expensive solar panels in lieu of cheap electricity from the mains? Or insisting on taking their own car to work, alone, rather than ride public transportation?Batuta wrote:Fact is that there just isn't enough consumer sentiment to support the research required to make this technology as reliable as required to succeed the status quo.
