Do I have to register warranty?

#1 Post by cb474 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 3:39 am

I bought a used X301 that still has five months left on the warrantly. The seller told me I could go to the Lenovo site and reigster the warranty to myself, on the warranty lookup page (although I don't see this option).

Is this something I need to do? I thought the warranty applied regardless of whether I register the product or not. If I do need to do it, how do I do it?

Thanks.

Thanks. I started to do it and then was struck with a forgotten but familiar feeling that the only purpose of this was for Lenovo to get my personal information for marketing purposes.
