Hey guys
Long time vintage computer collector here
I picked up a Thinkpad 380ED to run OpenStep 4.2 on it, and I have an a22m, Love them both.. The a22m is indestructible, I run Windows XP on it.
Really im into thinkpads to run alternative OS's on them such as OpenStep, NeXTstep, OS/2, Rhapsody that kind of stuff
I also work in ewaste so if i find any thinkpads i can pass em along
New Here got 2 of my First Thinkpads

Re: New Here got 2 of my First Thinkpads
Welcome!
I'm a relative newcomer to the boards, myself, but I do have a soft-spot for vintage hardware. Unfortunately the wife doesn't, so my collection is pretty small
. It's always cool to see what people do with the old stuff.
Recently I used my T23 to assist me in installing Puppy Linux on an old Latitude LS. It's tiny and feels like I could drive a truck over it. It only boots from a Dell-specific CD or Floppy drive that of course I don't have. Vintage hardware is great fun.

Re: New Here got 2 of my First Thinkpads
Welcome! I'm also new to the board (long time lurker though), and the ThinkPad brand itself. I was an avid Mac user before they decided to turn it into a giant iPad. Then I switched to Linux on my Mac, and if I don't have to pay the premium for OS X, why not get a great keyboard while I'm at it? I'm kind of sad about what Lenovo is doing to the ThinkPad and that I missed the IBM days, but I still have plenty of older models to collect! How does OpenStep run on that? I remember reading somewhere that Jobs had a ThinkPad running OpenStep, how's it running for you?

Very Snappy. My ethernet card should be arriving shortly along with its new battery, Also gonna get some more ram for it. It has 48MB In it. Its part of my display for the vintage computer festival. Still need to find a 765L so I can run Rhapsody x86 and ill be set
