Have Edge e420. Ready for the real deal...

#1 Post by court » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:50 pm

So, I bought a ThinkPad Edge e420 with the i5 about six months ago and it came with 4gb ram (2 slots times 2) and 500gb HDD (7200 rpm). I have up'd it to 8gb with two Micron 4gb modules for a total of eight and replaced the HDD with a 256gb Micron SSD. But, I love it so much that I feel I might be ready for the real deal. That is, to use this one on the go and get either a t420 or a w420. Either way I'm looking at the 15.6 as this one is 14. So, if I plan on getting the i7 either way is there a lot of difference? Are they functionally the same? Or, assuming this will be my work station, should I definitely go with the W?
