SSDs, TRIM, and OSs

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:35 pm

Got a X60 and an SSD off ebay and I was wondering about TRIM. Given I know about as much about SSD as any rainforest aboriginal, I was wondering what OS choices would be the best for performance short and long term. Any thoughts?

I put Win 8 on it and it's doing fine with it, but I hate the OS so any others I could use?

Thanks,

David

W7 or most Linux flavours will work just fine.

XP and Vista need tweaking (no native TRIM support), and even them might be troublesome.
