I decided it was too much of a hijack on that thread, as my question is not only regarding Lenovo, but also regarding Microsoft and W8 as relates to reinstalling W8. What exactly has Microsoft decided/ruled in reference to buying a computer with W8 installed, and does this mean that no W8 computer from any manufacturer will come with restore disks, as well as none can be purchased by end user?
Does this mean the average user would have to purchase retail W8 in order to recover from HDD crash, virus, etc., or would end computer user have legal access to purchase OEM disks for a reinstall? In order to restore a crashed hdd, would a real "geek" know how to create restore disks for a Thinkpad without having to purchase additional retail box W8. Ultimately, W8 and forward, will Lenovo not be able to provide restore disks in the future?
Inquiring minds want to know
