Well done Lenovo!

#1 Post by killer » Wed Nov 21, 2012 11:29 am

I tried to restore my wife's X201i to factory settings so we could sell it. The restore failed because the files were corrupt. I tried a restore from an external HDD but those files were also corrupt. Luckily I had taken out a 3 year warranty.

On Monday a quick call to Lenovo resulted in them providing me with a link to test the X201i's HDD. Several of the tests failed. So they said they would supply a replacement HDD and a set of DVDs to restore to factory settings.

On Tuesday the replacement HDD arrived. On Wednesday the DVDs arrived. Within 48 hours of reporting the problem everything is up and running again. (All I had to do was borrow an external DVD reader from a neighbour ... which cost me a pint.)

Great service from Lenovo. :thumbs-UP:

Thanks for posting. Glad to hear the problem is solved.

From my experience this is normal. Waste no time fast and efficient.
