Both stickers are the identical size, and can easily be exchanged...
Confusion reigns, when you see an IBM sticker on the lid, and a Lenovo sticker on the palmrest (or v.v.).
Often the case after a repair (or it's a Thinkpad with the much-abused fancy title 'refurbished' on eBay).

Yeah... the badging on the T6x, X6x and Z61 always tripped me out...

and the Z-series has always been a really weird area of Thinkpad for me... I think because the Z-series was IBM's idea of trying to make the Thinkpad brand more profitable. Lenovo's idea was obviously a lot different... widescreen variants of the mainstream Thinkpads and eventually all Thinkpads becoming widescreen.

What really bakes my noodle is the thought of how Thinkpad would've been if IBM kept it. Sure, realistically it would've been sold or it would've been discontinued, or rebranded, or become a very specialized brand, But it would've been completely different... really-Lenovo's acquisition and influence on the brand was kind of the Thinkpad's destined way of moving with the times. Sure, Thinkpads been watered down to cater to more and more of the general populous, but some great things came out of Lenovo snatching it up... the brand is still alive for one. And Lenovo gave us the W700 and W700ds.
Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...

The way I look at it...apologies for repeating myself...

Windows key + 20V AC adapter = Lenovo

No Windows key + 16V AC adapter = IBM.

Heh. That's actually a kind of neat way of looking at it. I also just absolutely love how many adapters for IBM laptops ranging from 600, 700-series, 701 and most T-series, can be used with each other, and sort of the same with Lenovo machines.

The T60 was my first and loved ThinkPad. It was IBM badged on palmrest and lid. And other thinkpads in my collection i have rebadged to IBM as a last the last honors IBM.
One day I wanted to remove any references to Lenovo from my T60:
In windows (XP) "System properties dialog" - easily corrected in the system files
On clear indicator plate. Some day i find LCD case (to replace my damaged one) from T60p with clear plate without "lenovo". And that case have metal colored open latch shift, while my lenovish has black.
On bottom case of thinkpad - replaced with new case (cracks and chips in the front corners) without any labels;)
Boot up screen - i have changed the bios boot up image with T4x-like picture. But "Lenovo" string exist in bios core. I'm not ready yet to hack bios to kill lenovo string.
...
And some day i find the answer about IBMish T60 (without Lenovo branded clear indicator plate). Early T60 (Yonah based) can be IBM branded on bottom label (I have seen one built 03/2005).

How long these ThinkPads was built?
