Hi,
So sorry to post this in a Thinkpad forum, but I'm at a loss where to turn for some help.
I have a Miix2 8", which I got when they were first released back in Nov 2013. (I have given a review of it on the Amazon site, if you're interested. Under the reviewer's name "Greatlegs" [my wife's account]).
One of my problems with this unit is the spottiness of the WiFi connections. When I go into Device Manager, there are 3 WiFi drivers - 2 from Broadcom and 1 from Microsoft.
Problem 1 - the WiFi seems to be more reliable using the Microsoft-provided driver. I switch to that, and the WiFi immediately connects. But after a power down or restart, the Broadcom driver is reloaded and I have to make the change manually again in order to connect. The Broadcom driver has a later date. Is that why the unit keeps reverting to it? Should I delete the Broadcom drivers so that the unit only sees the Microsoft driver?
Problem 2 - according to the VERY little bit of info I could find on the Lenovo site, the WiFi system is provided by "Hiking", and there is a driver provided for it. Yet the unit says it has a Broadcom system. Should I install the Hiking driver? I would hope for increased reliability, but I don't want to install an incorrect driver.
Problem 3 - as mentioned in my Amazon review, there is nothing like a System Update for this unit (yet), and Lenovo does not make it clear where the Miix fits into their product line - it isn't a Thinkpad or IdeaPad-branded device. What is it?
Thanks to whomever can offer some insight. As I said, I know this isn't the proper forum for this question.

It is an ideapad. The "Lenovo Ideapad Miix2 8" tablet". The thinkpad version is named thinkpad 8.IraSeigel wrote: Problem 3 - as mentioned in my Amazon review, there is nothing like a System Update for this unit (yet), and Lenovo does not make it clear where the Miix fits into their product line - it isn't a Thinkpad or IdeaPad-branded device. I would download the driver from Lenovos website, and DELTE all the WiFi drivers on the tablet. Then install the Lenovo one. If that doesn't fix it, i have no idea what should do the trick!IraSeigel wrote: Problem 2 - according to the VERY little bit of info I could find on the Lenovo site, the WiFi system is provided by "Hiking", and there is a driver provided for it. Re: Miix2 8" tablet Question
It's only a low-level consumer-style Ideapad, NOT a Thinkpad.
You should still have warranty, so return it for repair or replacement or refund if you don't get it working properly.
(or flog it)
