Well, my EJU just went from 7/19 to 7/20 --- and then back to 8/19!

I think I'll just quit looking at the Web site.

HUh?!? You are lucky. :)

My EJU still says 8/19 and I ordered it on 6/3. I've been told for the last two weeks that all add-on parts are in stock.

Random is right.

actually, you probably have a part on yours that they dont have yet, thats why you have to wait. If the come in early, they will probably ship your laptop out whenever they get them

My shipdate for a T43 "Express Model" has now slipped a full month from when I ordered. My order, placed on 6/15 said less than two weeks. Now the shipdate has been pushed back to 7/15.

I'm starting to feel like those CTO guys with the 4 week+ shipdates...and I though ordering an "Express" model would mean I'd get it faster.

On an unrelated note, does anyone find it odd that IBM is running a "free 2nd battery with laptop purchase" deal right now for regular purchases? (Doesn't apply to EPP & Educational).

I paid for a 2nd battery with my laptop and it has a shipdate of 7/25! I'm starting to wonder if a "lack of batteries" is keeping many of our systems from shipping? Maybe it's not a good idea to run such a special when you can't get ahold of batteries for paying customers...

Which battery and WiFi card did you order?

I got that. My purchase was EPP, and they told me that their promotion was a free battery, and it will be here in a separate box with the laptop on wensday. I dont think that it is delaying your order, cause it is just a six cell battery. It [censored] me off, because if I had ordered 2 days earlier, I would have got MS Office for 30 bucks, which would have been much more usefull than a [exploitive deleted] extra battery.

I ordered the IBM atheros II, after reading the posts here and deciding it was better than the intel. A nine cell battery comes with my system, and in a separate box, a six cell battery is shipped with it. The only slightly odd thing about my order is I got 512 mb of ram in the system and 512 shipped separately. THe extra ram was shipped last week ground, and it will get here on tuesday, a day before the laptop and extra battery.

Hmm, I'm going to make another call to customer service as when I asked about the free battery, I was told it didn't apply to EPP and other discount program purchases (that's why I PAID for another 6-cell)

See my sig. I've been told repeatedly that ALL of my parts are in stock, that only the EJU itself is backordered. I can't believe an 80GB drive or 1GB memory module would be holding anything up. Since I ordered before you, I hope to see some positive action in my status Monday. Or I'll be calling IBM to make some noise.

Meanwhile, my estimated ship date has slipped to 8/22!

YEAH!!!

FINALLY! My EJU shipped today!
I ordered it on 4/28, online status as of now shows est ship date of 07/06.
I called IBM/Lenovo this morning and was told that all parts are INSTOCK! and she had no idea why it's not shipped out yet since it was in Packing status for about a month now.
Just received shipping email in the evening :D

I recommend those that're still waiting for their CTO order, to call them, might help it to ship.

Now, i need to figure out what to do with Seagate 100gb I bought a month ago for this EJU. Don't want to have that bios alert problem.

Mine just shipped too!!! :D

They seem to have no clue as when stuff will arrive. For example, my extra battery shipped as well today (according to the invoice), yet it still says 7/25 on the website. Who care's though, its on its way!

You folks with shipped 2687-EJU's should be very happy. Monday a rep told me there was no reason mine hadn't shipped and that he would "escalate" the order and I'd have it before the holiday weekend.

Ha!!

Another rep today saw the "escalation" on the order, but still could not explain what's holding it up, since it's a pretty standard configuration. He got a sales rep on the line who swore he would go directly to someone who could get my order completed.

Meanwhile, others who ordered after me have had their EJU's shipped. And the wonderful Lenovo Web site says 8/23 for mine.

I really would not mind the waiting time --- IF Lenovo gave me the straight story and an accurate schedule. Just when I'm relaxed and ready to accept the delay, a rep says "oh, yeah, we'll get it out today", which of course turns out to be BS.

Lenovo has a lot to learn. I just want a T43 before Lenovo gets "innovative" and screws up the design, too.

I was initially given a 5-10 business day ship date (from June 2). I ordered from a SUNY school, so it was next-to-impossible to know what was going on. I finally convinced SUNY to bug IBM & it shipped today (19 business days).

Anyone have any idea how long Express UPS typically takes from Kowloon Bay to Chicago?
EDIT:Looks like 1-2 days (customs allowing). Sweet.
EDIT2:For those looking at other tracking to time how long their order will take (will be updated):

This is crazy, my laptop and at least 15 others have remained in Kowloon Bay since Tuesday morning! I thought mine might have gotten kicked into a corner, but I guess that's not the case...the whole airfreight container must have
(UPS uses almost identical tracking numbers for all the lenovo stuff, except the 2-3 digits).

OK, order finally shipped (Yeah!). But I see no tracking number on the Lenovo status pages. Do they e-mail it to you? Or do you have to call them?

The funny thing is on Saturday I ordered a customized Dell 700m for my sister and it shipped today as well.

The thing about this international shipping that has me most confused is if the HK times listed are HK time or my time. I'm thinking HK time since according to UPS my package has jumped from Kentucky back to HK just like every previous tracking record I've seen posted here.

OK! My EJU is in Louisville, a short UPS jaunt from here. Guess I'll have to wait until at least Tuesday. Fortunately, I can get a vicarious thrill through those of you who have received their notebooks yesterday and today. :)
